Toro Lounge’s Mouthwatering Options Will Make It Your Go-To Bremerton Restaurant
Downtown Bremerton’s Toro Lounge offers mouth-watering, gourmet food in an atmosphere that invites you to make it your neighborhood go-to.
On a Thursday evening, the restaurant was lightly populated, though with just enough people to give the space an urban energy for the late-dinner crowd.
Service was prompt, and our waitress informed us of the night’s special: Cheeseburgers with sriracha aioli on a pretzel bun for just $5. We went with it.
The restaurant bills itself as “Bremerton’s first and only gastropub,” and it certainly has the alcohol selection to justify such billing. We were looking for something light, and the server steered us away from the typical corporate light beers toward the locally-produced Ziggy Zoggy Summer Lager from Silver City Brewery, a refreshing choice that went well with our burgers.
The burgers were cooked to perfection, were juicy and flavorful, and the pretzel bun melted into the meat just the right amount. The side of truffle fries were tasty, although a bit too spicy for my palette (I can see spice-seekers adoring them, though).
In short, this was my second visit to the Toro Lounge, and with mouth-watering, affordable options like this, I think I’ll be heading back a lot more often.
