A man is dead and a woman is in custody after a shooting in Belfair on Monday.
Around 8 p.m. on Monday, July 20, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call stating a 52-year-old man had been shot inside a residence in the 100 block of NE Bear Ridge in the Belfair View Estates community, which is west of Belfair, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
The Mason County Coroner released the name of the deceased gunshot victim on Tuesday. He is identified as Joseph Gene Sedlacek, 52, of Belfair.
A 54-year-old Belfair woman was taken into custody and transported to Mason County Jail without incident. She was booked for investigation of murder with a firearm, according to the release.
She was identified Tuesday morning in Mason County Superior Court as Bridget Ann Graham, 54, of Belfair. Bail was set at $150,000.
The sheriff’s office planned to serve a search warrant on the victim’s residence Tuesday morning.
No other information is available due to the ongoing criminal investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
